Hopefully it isn’t coming as a surprise to you that Adam and Julie are engaged!
On December 19th, the pair went on a night on the town to have their own Christmas before Julie headed home for the holidays. As they walked into Richmond’s faciest hotel to marvel at its fancy Christmas decorations, Adam had in his pocket an unnecessarily large box. (I seriously don’t know how people keep these things hidden. It was obvious that I had a giant cube in my pocket.) The plan was to pop the question at a place they’ve spent many fond memories in.
Unfortunately, half the world’s population seemed to be at the Jefferson that night. As they walked through the door, Adam realized his plan was foiled. There was no hope of getting a quiet corner. No hope of celebrating the rest of the night.
To the untrained eye, the two casually made their way through the hotel and onto dinner walking and sitting. But, in truth, Adam was sweating bullets worried that Julie would discover the ring and ruin the surprise.
Eventually they made their way back to Adam’s house where they sat on his living room couch and took turns opening small gifts with Luna (Adam’s dog) nestled inbetween them. Once Julie finished opening all of her gifts Adam said “I have one more gift for you”… he went down on TWO knees and asked for her to marry him. She said YES! Luna, snuggling with Julie, agreed.
Many of you likely have some place to stay in Richmond. If not, here are a few places we would recommend.

Dear Friends and Family,
We understand that for many this is a financially stressful time and we by no means want you to feel pressured to have to get us anything from the registry below. We mostly just want your presence at our wedding! A card, poem, something homemade, or something of yours that is meaningful to you, are things that we would enjoy just as much as something from our registry. Thank you for your love and support! We will keep you all posted on wedding logistics once we know more.
Lots of love,
Julie & Adam
